Pakistan has been facing multitude of public health nutrition issues and the situation has not been improving in most cases. Recently the focus on nutrition has been enhanced and multi-sectoral approach is being adopted for the resolution of the issues. This positive move necessitates enhancing the capacity of the stakeholders for understanding the technical aspects of planning and implementing PHN projects, identification of previous pitfalls that hindered progress and skills in monitoring and evaluating the nutrition related development projects.
This conference is planned to fulfill some of the capacity building needs mentioned above.
Objectives:
- To review the nutrition projects undertaken in Pakistan in terms of determinants of success in Public Health Nutrition Programs
- To highlight the role of food safety and food quality in Public Health nutrition
- To introduce participants to the application of Nutrition Care Process for PHN programs and the role of various stakeholders in the NCP
Learning Outcomes:
After the course, participants will be able to:
- Identify actions that needs to be take to assure cost effectiveness of PHN programs in communities like Pakistan
- Outline the NCP and its application in PHN
